Who we are

What data we collect and why
- Contact and reservation forms (general enquiries, event RSVPs, Plan-page enquiries): name, email address, and -- depending on the form -- phone/guest count/event date/message. We use this to respond to your enquiry and process reservation requests.
- Newsletter sign-up: your email address, stored only if you submit the "Join the list" form in our footer, used to send you updates about CatuaBar. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing info@catuabar.nl.
- Technical/security data: when you submit a form, we temporarily record your IP address for up to 10 minutes to prevent spam and abuse. This record is not linked to your name or used for any other purpose.
- Server logs: like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser type, page requested) for security and operational purposes.
Legal basis for processing
We process your data based on: your consent (newsletter sign-up), the steps necessary to respond to your enquiry or process a reservation you have requested (contract / pre-contractual measures), and our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and free of spam.
How long we keep your data
Enquiry and reservation form submissions are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and a reasonable period afterwards for our own records, then deleted. Newsletter email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Technical rate-limit records are automatically cleared after 10 minutes.
Who we share your data with
- Tebi (live.tebi.co): our table-reservation widget. When you make a booking through it, Tebi processes your reservation data directly as an independent provider -- see Tebi's own privacy policy at tebi.co.
- Email delivery: enquiry-form messages are delivered to our inbox via our email service provider, acting as our data processor.
- OpenStreetMap: the map in our Find Us section loads map tiles from the OpenStreetMap Foundation's servers, which may log your IP address under their own privacy policy.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use advertising or analytics cookies/trackers of any kind.
Cookies
This site does not use analytics or advertising cookies. The only cookie we set is a strictly necessary session cookie for staff members logging into the internal admin area -- it is not set for regular visitors.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; ask us to correct or delete it; restrict or object to our processing of it; receive a copy in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time (e.g. by unsubscribing from the newsletter). To exercise any of these rights, email info@catuabar.nl. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
Data security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including spam/abuse rate-limiting and restricted access to our internal systems.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version always applies and is published on this page.
